For years the summer rhythm downtown was one-sided. The Park at Bothell Landing filled a lawn on Friday nights, and everyone drifted home afterward because the block around Main Street ran out of tables by nine. That gap is closing. The 2026 event calendar looks familiar, but the restaurants around it are new, and for the first time in a while a Friday in July has a real first act, main event, and afterparty inside a ten-minute walk.
This is a locals' read on what is actually on the amphitheater lawn this year, which recent openings are worth planning a Friday around, and where the weekend goes when a passing shower moves through.
The thesis, in one sentence
The city's summer programming has not changed dramatically. What has changed is the dining bench around it. Ilmu, a tasting-menu restaurant inside T55 Pâtisserie in Bothell, is running fancy brunches on Saturdays and Sundays when the bakery is closed, with a $125 tasting menu that includes takes on Singapore street food, partridge done two ways, and upwards of five different dessert courses. Agave Cocina & Tequilas, owned by Federico Ramos, is opening a third location at 18505 Bothell Way. Indus Indian Restaurant and Bar has landed at 3922 148th St., Suite 111, with the owners planning to join Bothell's growing dining scene. Three anchors in one calendar year is not incremental.

Music in the Park at Bothell Landing Friday, July 10, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 24, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 7, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, August 21, 6 to 9 p.m. Opening act begins at 6:00 p.m., followed by the main act at 7:00 p.m. One of the August dates is a notable booking: Music in the Park: Heart By Heart with Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, Friday August 7 at 9919 NE 180th St.
Movies in the Park Four free outdoor movie nights on a 40-foot screen set up on one of the city's open fields, with concessions, lawn games, and giveaways. This season's lineup includes Grease, The Parent Trap, Black Panther, and Up. Movies in the Park: Grease is happening on Friday July 17 at 8:00 p.m. at 11905 North Creek Parkway.
A useful non-park note Youth Summer Entertainment runs every Wednesday afternoon in August with kid-friendly concerts, wrapping up with a Parks Play Day. Dates: August 5, August 12, August 19, and August 26. Wednesdays are the quietest evenings in the food corridor, which makes this the easiest night to test a new restaurant with kids in tow.
The seating rules matter enough to plan around. Blankets and low-back chairs are strongly encouraged, seating is first-come first-served, and larger lawn chairs are asked to move to the back or side aisles. Outside food and beverages are welcome; alcohol and tobacco are not permitted. If you have wine plans, keep them for the restaurants before or after.
The new tables, ranked by how they change your Friday
Not every new opening rewires a summer weekend. These three do, for different reasons.
Ilmu, inside T55 Pâtisserie. This is the destination-tier addition. Seattle Times food critic Tan Vinh included Ilmu in Bothell among the most anticipated restaurants of 2026. A city that hosts a Seattle Times most-anticipated list restaurant does not need to defend its dining scene to visiting family anymore. Given the tasting-menu format and weekend-only brunch hours, this is a plan-ahead reservation, not a walk-in before the amphitheater.
Agave Cocina & Tequilas. The practical one. The family-owned restaurant launched in 2009 and operates locations in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood and Issaquah Heights, with a menu of contemporary Mexican cuisine made with locally sourced ingredients and hormone-free meats, eggs, rice and beans. The Bothell Way address puts it inside the walking radius that matters on a music night.
Indus Indian Restaurant and Bar. The gap-filler. Co-owner Durga Valluri told What Now Seattle that in the Mill Creek area there are no Indian restaurants in or around, so they want to serve the community with a variety of food. The menu will showcase regional flavors including tandoor-fresh breads, slow-simmered curries, fragrant biryanis, and Indo-Chinese favorites. For north-Bothell households whose regular Indian dinner meant a drive to Redmond or Bellevue, this is a straightforward routine change.
One Saturday, one route
The single most locals-only day of the season is worth calling out on its own.
Saturday, July 18. Two things happen at once. Duck, Duck Pour! Bothell Wine, Beer & Spirits Walk 2026 is happening on Saturday July 18 from 4:00 p.m. onwards at Main Street Downtown Bothell. The same afternoon, the 2026 Redfellow Music Festival is happening on Saturday July 18 from 4:00 p.m. at Starlight Meadows, Bothell.
Two ticketed afternoons with overlapping start times means you pick a lane. The walk keeps you on foot in the historic core and pairs cleanly with dinner at a Main Street table afterward. The festival at Starlight Meadows is the day-drink-in-a-field option. In prior years the choice would have been the walk by default, because Main Street was where the tables were. That has flipped a little; the walk is now competing with the festival for the same crowd, and both are pulling from a bigger dining bench downtown than they had two summers ago.
When the rain moves through
Bothell's July can shift on you at 5 p.m. Two indoor options carry weight when the sky changes.
The Teacher Show: Comedy From The Classroom at McMenamins Anderson School is happening on Friday July 24 from 8:00 p.m. at McMenamins Anderson School, Bothell. That date deliberately does not conflict with a Music in the Park night, though the timing lines up cleanly with an early amphitheater set followed by a walk across town for the late show.
At The Cottage, the Break Even Bottle program every Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. opens rare spirits by the pour, and a weekly wine tasting with a boutique winery runs every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Those are Tuesday and Wednesday events, which is the small point. If your summer social life is built around Friday nights on the lawn, midweek is where the neighborhood's newer routines live.
For a straightforward weekday dinner without any programming attached, Beardslee Public House keeps showing up in local networking calendars, which is a decent proxy for a reliable room. A joint networking event with three local chambers, Bothell Kenmore, Mill Creek and Woodinville, is scheduled for July 9 at Beardslee Public House, 19116 Beardslee.
A few smaller notes worth keeping
Not everything below deserves its own section, but each item shifts a specific weekend.
- Pride in the Park was held June 13 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Park at Bothell Landing, 9919 NE 180th St. The venue is the same amphitheater lawn that hosts Music in the Park, which is useful if you have not been down there in a while and want to scout the seating before a busier August Friday.
- The UW Bothell Block Party ran Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. in downtown Bothell. The event happens once a year, but the crowd behavior it produces, closed streets, food trucks pulled into Main, is worth remembering when planning to be downtown on Memorial Day weekend in future summers.
- The Fourth of July festivities begin with a free pancake breakfast hosted by the Bothell Fire Department at the Park at Bothell Landing from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. If you have out-of-town guests staying through the holiday, this is the low-effort Friday morning that reads as very Bothell without any planning on your part.
What this actually means for the neighborhood
Two years ago, a first-time visitor to a Music in the Park night would have eaten before they drove in. The plan was the concert, and the town was the backdrop. In 2026 the plan can start earlier and end later, and the walking radius between reservation and lawn is small enough that a stroller works. That is a real change, even if none of the individual openings sound dramatic on their own.
The city's calendar did not build this. The restaurants did. Ilmu earned its way onto a Seattle Times list from a Bothell address. Agave Cocina chose Bothell for its third location after Queen Anne and Issaquah Heights. Indus opened north of downtown because there was a gap that a Redmond drive was solving. Any one of those is a data point. Together they are a trend line, and it is pointing toward a summer where downtown holds people longer than it used to.
